So far it's worked well for two of my groups across the two chronicles. This continues until the Vampire regains control or the victim is dead. I also impose some rules regarding feeding and getting 'lost in the kiss' which is quite simple when a vampire finds a victim to feed off of they make a Self Control / Instinct roll when they wish to end their feeding, this is difficulty 6 with +1 modifier if the vampire was Hungry when they began feeding and a extra +1 if they were down to half blood pool when they started feeding (this is of course assuming any frenzy checks were resisted), failure means they will drain blood for one more turn and then roll again at -1 diff to the previous roll. In my last few Dark Ages games I have been running things like this įor the purposes of the Frenzy chart (Smell of, Sight of, Taste of) a Vampire is hungry if he or she has spent 3 or more blood points from their pool (the amount that can be drained from a victim in one round upwards), for the 'extreme' circumstances I raise the frenzy resist/ride difficulty by +2 if the vampire is at half blood pool of lower and by +3 if the vampire is on their last 2 blood points. Hunger gets mentioned a lot through V20 DAV20 and all the way back through the books. There's a lot of discussion back and forth between V20 and V5 and something that comes up quite a bit is the subject of Hunger.
